Piles, also known as hemorrhoids, is a disorder of the anal passage, primarily caused by chronic constipation. Excessive consumption of spicy, oily, and outside food leads to constipation, making stool hard and dry. This results in straining during bowel movements, which can cause hemorrhoids.
There are two main types of piles:
- Bleeding Piles (Khooni Bawasir): When blood oozes out in drops during bowel movements.
- Dry Piles (Wadi Bawasir): When lumps resembling peas or grapes form around or inside the anus without bleeding.
Symptoms of Piles
- Formation of fleshy lumps (hemorrhoidal masses) around the anus.
- Inflammation and burning sensation in the affected area.
- Severe pain while sitting or moving.
- If left untreated, the lumps may burst, leading to pus and excessive bleeding.
- Weakness, dizziness, and difficulty in walking.
Types of Piles
- Pittaj Piles: Yellow, blue, or black lumps with a foul smell and thin bleeding.
- Kaphaj Piles: Deep lumps with mucus, slight pain, and itching.
- Vataj Piles: Hard, dry, red, or black lumps causing severe pain.
- Sannipataj Piles: A combination of all three types.
- Hereditary Piles: Passed down through generations.
- Bleeding Piles: Red, pea-sized lumps that bleed excessively.
Causes of Piles
- Constipation: The primary cause of piles, leading to hard stools and excessive straining.
- Poor Digestion: Eating too many spicy and oily foods.
- Lack of Fiber & Water: Dry stools cause anal wounds and lumps.
- Delayed Treatment: Can lead to chronic piles and increased pain.
