Ban on Filling Petrol in Unsafe Containers
One of the key points in the advisory is a strict restriction on dispensing petrol or diesel into plastic bottles, cans or any open containers that do not meet safety standards.
According to the ministry, petrol is a highly flammable substance and storing it in unsafe containers can pose a significant risk of fire or accidents. Improper handling or storage of fuel increases the likelihood of dangerous incidents.
Authorities have therefore directed petrol pump operators to follow safety regulations without exception.
Strict Action for Rule Violations

Priority Supply for CNG and PNG
As part of broader energy management measures, the government issued a Natural Gas Control Order on March 9, 2026.
Under this directive, Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) used in vehicles and Piped Natural Gas (PNG) supplied to households have been given priority in gas allocation.
Authorities have confirmed that 100 percent supply for domestic PNG and vehicle CNG segments will be maintained to ensure that household cooking needs and transportation services remain unaffected.
However, some industrial sectors may experience minor adjustments in gas supply to maintain this balance.
Current Situation of Fuel Prices
Although global crude oil prices are approaching $100 per barrel, the government has indicated that it currently does not plan to increase petrol and diesel prices.
The objective is to shield consumers from sudden inflationary pressures. However, energy market experts believe that if global tensions persist for a prolonged period, price revisions may be considered in the future.
For now, authorities are monitoring the situation closely while maintaining stable fuel prices.
