The celebration of Ganesh Chaturthi is no longer confined to homes; Ganpati Bappa is now welcomed with devotion and enthusiasm in many corporate offices, shops, and startups as well. However, according to religious beliefs and Vastu principles, there are distinct guidelines for installing the idol of Lord Ganesha at home versus the workplace. When installing the idol in an office, one is advised to consider various factors—ranging from the form of the idol to its orientation and the rituals of worship. **Form of the Idol**

At home, people install idols of Lord Ganesha in various forms based on personal preference and religious beliefs. In contrast, for a workplace or business premises, an idol depicting Lord Ganesha in a calm posture and seated in the *Padmasana* (lotus position) is considered auspicious. Such a form is believed to symbolize stability and positivity.

**Intent of Worship**
The purpose of worshipping Ganpati at home is usually linked to seeking happiness, peace, good health, and prosperity for the family. In an office setting, the prayers focus on business growth, financial stability, the removal of obstacles in work, and fostering better coordination among employees.

**Cleanliness and Discipline**
At home, the family can easily manage the arrangements and cleanliness for the worship. Offices, however, see a lot of foot traffic; therefore, maintaining the cleanliness and sanctity of the installation area and adhering to a specific schedule for worship is considered essential.

**Points to Consider When Installing Ganpati in the Office**

**Choose the North-East (Ishaan Kon) or East Direction:** According to Vastu principles, the North-East corner (*Ishaan Kon*) or the East direction is considered auspicious for installing Lord Ganesha in an office. When placing the idol, ensure that His back is not facing the main work area.

**Direction of the Trunk is Significant:** It is believed that for a workplace, an idol of Ganpati with a trunk curved towards the left is preferable. Conversely, worshipping an idol with a trunk curved towards the right entails adhering to stricter rituals. Therefore, it is advisable to keep this in mind when selecting an idol for a busy environment like an office. Avoid placing the idol near beams, staircases, or washrooms: Place the platform (chowki) for Lord Ganesha in a spot that is not directly beneath a heavy ceiling beam. It is also advised to avoid installing the idol under a staircase or against a wall shared with a washroom.

Offer 21 strands of Durva grass to Bappa: According to religious belief, Lord Ganesha is extremely fond of Durva grass. Offering 21 bundles (or strands) of Durva during the worship is considered auspicious. Additionally, *Modaks* or *Besan Laddoos* can be offered as *Bhog* (sacred food offering).
