Gangaur Vrat 2025: The festival of Gangaur is celebrated with great pomp in many states of the country including Rajasthan. On this day, women worship Mother Gauri and Lord Shiva, and traditional dishes are prepared at home. Especially the taste of sweet gune made on this day is liked by everyone.

These are crunchy, sweet, and very tasty, so if you also want to make something special on this Gangaur, then this quick sweet gune recipe is perfect for you.

Ingredients:
Wheat flour – 1 cup
Semolina (rava) – ¼ cup
Sugar – ½ cup
Fennel seeds – 1 tsp
Ghee – 2 tbsp
Cardamom powder – ½ tsp
Sesame seeds – 1 tsp
Baking soda – 1 pinch (if desired)
Water – as per requirement
Oil or ghee – for frying

Method:
Prepare sugar syrup
Put ½ cup water in a pan add ½ cup sugar to it and cook on low flame.
Keep stirring it till the sugar dissolves completely.
When a light syrup is formed, keep it aside to cool.


Knead the dough
In a large vessel, add wheat flour, semolina, fennel seeds, cardamom powder, and sesame seeds.
Now add melted sugar syrup and ghee to it and mix well.
Knead a stiff dough by adding some water.
Keep the dough covered for 10-15 minutes so that it sets well.


Make and fry the gunas
Now make small balls from this dough and flatten them slightly.
Heat oil or ghee in a pan and fry the gunas on medium flame.
Fry them on low flame till they become golden and crispy.


Remove extra oil
When the gunas are fried well, take them out on tissue paper so that the extra oil drains out.
Now your sweet gunas are ready. Serve them hot or cold and enjoy this delicious prasad after the Gangaur Puja.

Special tips for making gunas
If you want to make more crispy gunas, then add a little more ghee.
Adding baking soda makes the gunas light and fluffy, but this is optional.
Adding sesame seeds and fennel seeds enhances the taste of gunas even more, definitely add them.
