Gold and silver prices continue to witness fluctuations. While gold prices are currently seeing a decline, their value could potentially double in the coming days; several major brokerage firms predict that gold prices could double soon. Meanwhile, today—Tuesday, September 22—gold prices have fallen in the global market, whereas silver has seen a rebound.

**How much did gold fall in the international market?**
On Tuesday, September 22—the second trading day of the week—gold prices declined in the international market (Comex), while silver prices surged. According to Comex data, at the time of writing, gold had fallen by 0.08%, with the price reaching $4,380.50 per ounce. Conversely, silver prices rose by 0.25%, trading at $66.580 per ounce.
**What is the situation in the domestic market?**
Prices for both gold and silver have risen in the domestic bullion market as well. On the MCX, gold was seen trading at around ₹1.54 lakh per 10 grams, while silver prices rose to trade around ₹2.40 lakh per kilogram.
**Gold shines on MCX**
On the Multi Commodity Exchange (MCX), gold for October delivery rose by ₹342 by the time of writing, trading at ₹1,54,497 per 10 grams. Meanwhile, silver prices climbed by ₹800, reaching ₹2,40,150 per kilogram.
**Latest rates in the bullion market**
As the market opened today, September 22, prices for both gold and silver in India were seen surging. Amidst this, 24-carat gold is trading at approximately ₹1,54,090 per 10 grams, while 22-carat gold remains around ₹1,41,249 per 10 grams. Meanwhile, 18-carat gold is trending near ₹1,15,568 per 10 grams. Silver prices in India were seen trading at approximately ₹2,40,100 per kilogram.
Amidst the rise in prices, the major global brokerage firm JPMorgan has projected that gold could touch historic levels of $4,500 per ounce by the end of 2026 and $5,000 by mid-2027. Meanwhile, the US bank Jefferies estimates that gold could cross the $10,000 mark by 2027.
