IRCTC New Website Beta Version: Indian Railways has brought a fantastic gift for the millions of passengers who travel by train. The 'beta version' of IRCTC's new, high-tech website is set to go live for the general public tonight at exactly 9:00 PM (21:00 hours).

Developed following discussions between Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw and students, the primary objective of this website is to provide passengers with a completely new, faster, and easier ticket-booking experience. Let us understand, in simple terms, the major changes and benefits this new digital portal offers the general public starting tonight.
How to log in to the website
Starting at 9:00 PM tonight, anyone can visit the official link (https://www.irctc.co.in/eticket/) to experience this new version. Additionally, users of the existing website will find a direct link on the homepage to switch to this new beta version, where they can also share their opinions and feedback.
Unnecessary CAPTCHAs and ads removed based on students' suggestions.
Launched in 2002, the IRCTC website currently handles an average of 1.45 million (14.5 lakh) ticket bookings daily. This time, the website has been redesigned to be much cleaner and more user-friendly, incorporating suggestions from students at the Malaviya National Institute of Technology (MNIT). You will now be free from the repetitive, unnecessary CAPTCHAs, annoying pop-up ads, and flashing graphics that previously cluttered the ticket-booking process.
Simultaneous seat display and faster booking
The Railways has introduced four major improvements in this new trial version. Instead of checking seat availability for each train individually, passengers will now see availability across all classes on a single screen. Furthermore, the number of steps involved in booking a ticket has been reduced, ensuring that payment and checkout are completed much faster. Re-booking tickets has become child's play.
In this updated system, passenger details are saved after being entered once, eliminating the need to repeatedly type names and ages when booking tickets in the future. This is currently the beta version of the new website; the final, full version will be launched shortly after this.
