Producer Pahlaj Nihalani, who has produced films like Govinda's 'Aankhen' and 'Shola Aur Shabnam', recently discussed the reason for this.

'Govinda trusts the people around him'

Producer and former CBFC chief Pahlaj Nihalani recently praised Govinda. He said that he was very innocent, but the people around him were not good. Govinda trusted such people. Recently, in a conversation with Vicky Lalwani, Pahlaj Nihalani said, 'Govinda has been an all-rounder. He handled his career very well. But he trusts people easily and the environment around him is not good, so he goes astray.

David Dhawan accused of instigating Govinda
Pahlaj Nihalani further said about Govinda, 'He stays in the company of pandits (astrologers, fortune tellers) and is influenced by the environment around him and what he believes in. But people do not take those conversations seriously. Such conversations and this aura are detrimental to his career in the film industry. Pahlaj Nihalani further said that Govinda stopped working with him because of David Dhawan. The producer said, 'David Dhawan had poisoned Govinda's mind against me'.

Said- 'Salman Khan and David did the acting'
Talking about Govinda, Pahlaj Nihalani said that he is so naive that he was made to feel that Salman Khan and David Dhawan had helped him by casting him in 'Partner'. He said, 'Govinda is so naive that in 'Partner', David Dhawan wanted Govinda to play that character. However, it was claimed that David and Salman helped Govinda during his downfall in his career. They portrayed Govinda as if they had helped him. The reality was that he wanted only Govinda to play this role.

Why did the relationship with David Dhawan deteriorate?
Pahlaj Nihalani also mentioned what went wrong between him and David Dhawan. Pahlaj talked about 'Aankhen'. He said, 'The story was mine, I wrote the screenplay. Anees Bazmee wrote the dialogues. I also recorded the songs and shot them. David was there only to shoot the scenes. In fact, he was also absent for 27 days while shooting the climax. He had come to Mumbai to shoot another film. I did all the remaining work. I shot most of the action sequences. He did the same in all our films.'
