After coloring your hair, everyone wants the color to remain vibrant for a long time. However, the hair often starts looking dull and lifeless within just a few weeks. This isn't always due to the quality of the hair color itself; certain daily hair care habits can also be responsible. With the right care, you can maintain the vibrancy of your hair color for longer.

Washing your hair daily can cause the color to fade quickly. Frequent washing causes color pigments to gradually leach out, leading to a loss of shine. It is better to wash your hair only when necessary and use alternatives like dry shampoo in between washes.
**Change the habit of washing with hot water**
Washing hair with very hot water opens up the hair's outer layer. This allows color particles to escape rapidly, causing the color to fade faster. Washing with lukewarm or slightly cool water helps preserve the color for a longer period.
**Choosing the right shampoo and conditioner is crucial**
For colored hair, it is best to use shampoos and conditioners specifically formulated for color protection. Products containing harsh cleansing agents can strip away natural moisture along with the hair color. Therefore, always select products suited to your hair type and color.
**Avoid excessive heat styling**
Daily use of straighteners, curling irons, and blow dryers can deplete hair moisture. Constant exposure to high heat can also dull the color's vibrancy. If heat styling is unavoidable, it is advisable to use a heat protectant product beforehand.
**Sunlight and chlorine can also cause damage**
Prolonged exposure to intense sunlight allows ultraviolet rays to gradually fade the hair color. Similarly, the chlorine in swimming pool water can affect colored hair. Wearing a scarf or hat when outdoors and rinsing your hair with clean water after swimming can be beneficial.

Take care of your hair health.
Hair color looks good for longer not just through external care, but also through internal nourishment. A diet rich in protein, iron, biotin, omega-3 fatty acids, and vitamins helps keep hair strong. Drinking enough water is also essential for maintaining hair's moisture and shine.
