Seasonal Hair Loss: As the weather changes in September, many people may experience increased hair loss. Factors such as high humidity following the monsoon, sweating, dirt accumulation on the scalp, and changes in hair care routines can contribute to this issue. While losing some hair daily is considered normal, sudden, excessive hair breakage or loss could be caused by stress, nutritional deficiencies, hormonal changes, scalp issues, or other underlying factors.

In such cases, rather than relying solely on home remedies, it is important to understand the root cause. Maintaining a balanced diet, ensuring adequate protein intake and sleep, and keeping the scalp clean can help maintain general hair health. Adopting a few simple hair care habits during the seasonal transition in September can help keep your hair healthy.
Keep the scalp clean.
Humidity and sweating can lead to an accumulation of oil and dirt on the scalp. Cleanse your hair and scalp using a mild shampoo suited to your needs, and avoid washing your hair with very hot water.
Avoid excessive heat styling.
Excessive heat from hair dryers, straighteners, and curling irons can make hair weak and dry. Whenever possible, let your hair air-dry and minimize the use of heat-styling tools.
Balance oil application
A gentle massage with coconut oil or other standard hair oils can nourish the hair and scalp. It is not necessary to leave excessive oil on for long periods, especially if you have an oily scalp.
Avoid combing wet hair.
Wet hair is relatively fragile, and pulling or detangling it forcefully increases the risk of breakage. Allow your hair to dry slightly before gently detangling it with a wide-toothed comb.
Include protein and nutrients in your diet.
Adequate nutrition is essential for hair health. You can include sources of protein—such as lentils, eggs, milk, yogurt, paneer (cottage cheese), and fish—in your diet. Green vegetables, fruits, nuts, and seeds can also be part of a balanced diet.

When should you consult a doctor?
It is advisable to consult a dermatologist if you experience sudden, excessive hair loss, notice bald patches, observe itching or redness on the scalp, or if the problem persists for a long time. There can be various underlying causes for hair loss; therefore, a doctor can recommend appropriate tests and treatments based on the specific cause.
Note: Home remedies do not yield the same results for everyone. Certain oils, supplements, or home remedies may cause allergies or scalp issues, so discontinue use if you experience any adverse effe
