As a child begins to walk and talk, their stubbornness also increases. They insist on asking for every little thing, believing that they are their parents' favorite and will get whatever they ask for. If you are very troubled by this stubbornness and want to reduce it, the tips given here may be helpful.

Don't React
This may seem strange to you, but it can truly work like magic. Whenever a child insists on something and starts crying, parents should stop reacting to it. Don't try to calm them down with affection or other comforting words.
Don't react in any way for 5-6 minutes. You will find that they will calm down on their own. Remember, this method should not be used if the child has already developed a bad habit of doing so.
Talk in a calm voice.
Instead of getting angry or raising a hand at your child, taking a break and talking in a calm voice is the best approach. Parents' anger makes the child even more aggressive, which increases stubbornness instead of reducing it.
Avoid saying no and offer multiple options.
Whenever your child insists on something, instead of saying no, offer them their preferred option. For example, if they like a toy very much but insist on a car, compare the two things.
Identify your child's triggers.
Sometimes, children do this not out of choice, but because they are tired or irritable. In such cases, identify their triggers to see if sleep or hunger is the reason for their stubbornness. Also, note their patterns of when they are most stubborn, such as when going to the market or during school.
Understand their emotions
When a child feels that they are not being listened to, they become even more stubborn. In such a situation, after listening to the child's demand, express your views on it and make them understand.
