Benefits of Flaxseed Chutney

This is a heart-friendly chutney, in which by adding garlic and chili, their properties also double the benefits of it. Omega three in flax seeds, allicin present in garlic, and capsaicin found in chilies reduce cholesterol levels and improve heart health. Ingredients

1 cup flax seeds
¼ cup peanuts
5 to 6 whole red chillies
8 to 10 garlic cloves
1 tablespoon white sesame seeds
Salt to taste
½ lemon juice
5-6 curry leaves
Half teaspoon mustard

Method of preparation

First, roast the flax seeds on low flame and keep them aside to cool.
After this roast the peanuts too.
Now soak the whole red chilies in lukewarm water for 10 minutes and peel the garlic cloves.
After this roast the white sesame seeds separately.
Then grind all these ingredients together in a mixer.
After this add salt and lemon juice to it.


You can also add tamarind water to it to give it a tangy flavor.
To increase the shelf life, temper it. Temper mustard seeds in 1 tbsp oil. Add curry leaves and whole red chilies to it.
Pour it over the chutney and mix well.
Serve with any dish like dosa, idli, uttapam, paratha, khichdi, dalia, cheela, etc.
This chutney can also be used as a seasoning over dishes like salad, kachumber, or koshimbar.
