Roasted Makhana Recipe: Feeling hungry every now and then is normal, but satisfying that hunger repeatedly with junk or unhealthy food can be detrimental to your health. To avoid this, you can include snacks like roasted chickpeas, peanuts, puffed rice, or *makhana* (fox nuts) in your diet; consuming these can be beneficial. However, moderation is key.

Mothers and grandmothers often keep roasted *makhana* handy at home to satisfy cravings or mild hunger pangs. But if you are bored with the standard version, try these three distinct flavors so you can enjoy them daily without monotony, experiencing a unique taste each time.
Roasted *makhana* is a delicious and easy-to-make option for those light evening hunger pangs. You can roast them at home with minimal effort and experiment with various spices to enjoy a new flavor every day. If you don't care for plain *makhana*, definitely give these three flavors a try.
**First, Roast the Makhana Like This**
Heat a pan over a low flame, add the *makhana*, and roast for a few minutes while stirring continuously. Once they become nice and crispy, transfer them to a plate. You can then create different flavors by adding your choice of spices along with a little ghee or butter.
**1. Chatpata Masala Makhana**
Add a little ghee, *chaat masala*, black salt, red chili powder, and roasted cumin powder to the roasted *makhana*. Mix everything well. Its tangy and spicy flavor pairs perfectly with evening tea.
**2. Cheese Makhana**
If you enjoy the taste of cheese, mix a little butter and cheese powder into the roasted *makhana*. You can sprinkle some oregano or mixed herbs on top. Toss everything well and serve immediately.
3. Peri-Peri Makhana
Add a little ghee to roasted makhana (fox nuts), then mix in peri-peri masala and a pinch of black salt. Adjust the quantity of spices according to your taste. After tossing everything well, your spicy and crispy snack is ready.

Tip: Roasting the makhana thoroughly on a low flame ensures they stay extra crispy. Allow the prepared makhana to cool completely before storing them in an airtight container to maintain their crunchiness for a longer period.
