Jaya Bachchan recently commented on the paparazzi culture, sparking a debate in Bollywood. Several celebrities shared their opinions. Now, Huma Qureshi has weighed in on the issue. Huma acknowledged that boundaries are necessary, but also admitted that celebrities benefit from the visibility provided by the paparazzi and sometimes even call them themselves. She said that all the blame shouldn't be placed on the paparazzi.

In the ongoing debate surrounding paparazzi culture, actress Huma Qureshi presented a balanced perspective. A few days after Jaya Bachchan's sharp criticism, Huma stated that she considers the paparazzi an important part of the industry's ecosystem and said that celebrities themselves use them for promotion. Huma made these remarks in an interview with India Today, which is now going viral on social media.
‘We call them ourselves for promotion.’
Huma Qureshi said, “I have a very healthy relationship with the paparazzi. They are necessary. I won't lie, we use them when we need to promote a film or bring a part of our lives into the public eye. We invite them to premieres. When we want to be spotted somewhere, we call them ourselves. All the blame shouldn't be put on them.” She further added that when she's not in the mood, she requests that they not take pictures, and the photographers respect her wishes.
‘There's a limit to invading privacy.’
She also emphasized that respect and boundaries should be maintained, especially with women. She said, “If you want to intrude on my privacy, you'll ask questions that I won't find appropriate… There's a limit that shouldn't be crossed, but sometimes they do cross it.” She further added that as an actress, she has experienced all of this.

Jaya Bachchan's sharp comments, Shatrughan Sinha's taunt
Earlier, Jaya had spoken about this issue in an interview. She had said that her relationship with the media is excellent, but with the paparazzi, it's zero. Who are these people? Anyone can take pictures wearing tight, dirty pants and carrying a mobile phone. “What kind of training do they have?” Jaya had questioned their professionalism. Following Jaya's comment, Shatrughan Sinha had supported the paparazzi. At an event, he said, “You all wear nice pants and nice shirts too. We appreciate you very much.” This was a subtle dig at Jaya's "dirty pants" comment.
