Actor-director MK Raina was seen walking off the stage on the second day of Jaipur Literature Festival 2025 on Friday, January 31, when singer-drama maestro Ila Arun performed a scene from her play Peer Ghani. Both Raina and Ila Arun attended the prestigious festival to present their respective memoirs 'Before I Forget' and 'Behind the Scenes'.

Raina left the stage.

It all happened when Ila Arun talked about her love for legendary playwright Henrik Ibsen and how she adapted his famous play Peer Gynt as her play Peer Ghani, set against the backdrop of Kashmir. During the interaction, Ila Arun decided to enact a scene from her play on the JLF stage and while she was doing so, Raina decided to walk out.

Ila said this to Raina's displeasure.

Though Raina did not reveal the reason for her disappointment, the filmmaker was ignored during this special session, as per reports. When Ila Arun later realized that Raina had left, she said, 'This session is not just about my book but it is about my life and if I am acting he should not get angry. He should sit here.' She joked, 'Why did Albert Pinto get angry?', which made the audience laugh and appreciate her for maintaining her composure.

Ila Arun made this appeal about Raina.

When the session ended, moderator Asad Lalji formally apologised to Raina, saying that neither she nor the panel members had the intention to insult him. Ila Arun also urged the audience to read Raina's memoir and get his autograph on their copies.
