What to Eat on Monday
1. White-colored foods
Eating white-colored foods like milk, yogurt, rice, sugar candy, coconut, white sweets, kheer (rice pudding), etc., is considered auspicious on Monday. White is a symbol of peace and purity, which is dear to Lord Shiva.

2. Sattvic diet
Light, sattvic, and nutritious food is considered very good on this day. This includes fruits, green vegetables, salads, and seasonal fruits. This keeps the body light and the mind calm.

3. Foods made with Ganges water
According to religious beliefs, if possible, use Ganges water in preparing food. It is considered sacred and auspicious.

4. Consumption of Bel Patra and Tulsi
Consuming Bel Patra (bael leaves) and Tulsi (holy basil) leaves after worship is considered good. It is beneficial for health and also holds special religious significance.

What Not to Eat on Monday
1. Avoid salt

2. Meat and alcohol
On Monday, one should stay away from tamasic (negative) things like meat, fish, and alcohol. These are harmful not only from a religious point of view but also for health.

Many people avoid consuming garlic and onions on Mondays, as they are considered to be tamasic (foods that promote lethargy and negativity) and can disturb the mind.

4. Very Oily and Fried Foods
Excessively oily and spicy food should also be avoided on Mondays, as it can cause heaviness and lethargy in the body.

Simple Remedies to Follow on Mondays:
1. After bathing in the morning, perform an abhishek (ritualistic bathing) of the Shiva Lingam with milk, curd, honey, and Ganges water.
2. Chant "Om Namah Shivaya" 108 times.
3. Donate white clothes, rice, or sweets to the needy.
4. Light a lamp in the evening to maintain peace and positive energy in the house.
