After performing Jalabhishek on Lord Shiva's Shivalinga on Mahashivratri, chant Lord Shiva's infallible mantra, Om Namah Shivaya, 108 times. This calms the Mahadasha of the planet Rahu. Also, if you are chanting the mantra, Om Rahve Namah, on this day, then Rahu starts becoming favourable in the horoscope.
