How To Make Children Mentally Strong: Shocking news has come out from Jaipur's Brahmapuri police station area, which has forced every parent to think. A 14-year-old student, who was studying in class 9, got so upset with his own friend's blackmailing that he committed suicide by drinking poison in front of his father. The video of this painful incident has also surfaced, in which it is seen how an innocent child broke down due to fear and shame.

According to the information, a friend of the victim, Aishwarya Singh, was blackmailing her with a picture of the bathroom. The accused child threatened that if Aishwarya did not get two lakh rupees from her father, he would make this photo public. Such a big mental pressure situation at such a young age completely broke Aishwarya.
A question arises from this incident: are we able to make our children emotionally strong enough to face mental violence like blackmailing?
How to make children psychologically strong?
Provide an environment of open communication.
It is very important to assure children that they can share anything with their parents, no matter how embarrassing or scary it may seem.
Teach 'understanding', not 'shame'
Many times, children consider an incident so shameful that they hide it. Teach them that it is important to understand whose fault it is and that the victim needs courage, not shame.
Teach 'no means no' and increase self-esteem.
It is important to explain to children that it is their right to oppose any kind of coercion or pressure, and asking for help for this is not a weakness.
Make them aware of digital safety.
Tell children what things they should avoid while using mobile, camera, and social media. Talk about privacy and boundaries.
Teach through role-play and case studies.
Explain to children through real cases or activities what to do if someone blackmails them. Whom to tell first, how to react and what not to do.
Develop emotional intelligence
Teach children to understand and control their emotions. This will help them take thoughtful steps instead of panicking in difficult situations.
Important warning for parents
This incident also made it clear that there are many things in the world of school, friends and technology that can affect the mental health of children. It is important that parents not only pay attention to the academics of children, but also understand their emotional and mental development.
Aishwarya's suicide is a tragedy, but it is also an eye-opener, so that we can make our children so strong that they do not break down in any situation, but face it boldly.
