The festival of Vijayadashami will be celebrated with great pomp and fervor across the country. Dussehra is considered a symbol of the victory of good over evil. According to the Hindu calendar, it is celebrated every year on the tenth day (Dashami Tithi) of the bright fortnight (Shukla Paksha) of the month of Ashwina. According to religious beliefs, Lord Rama defeated and slew the king of Lanka, Ravana, in battle. Furthermore, it was during a ten-day-long battle between Goddess Durga and the demon Mahishasura that the Goddess brought an end to the demon. Since then, this day has been celebrated as the festival of Vijayadashami. On Dussehra, certain astrological remedies are practiced to invite happiness, prosperity, and wealth into one's life. Let us explore what these remedies are.

Remedies for Dussehra
1- The festival of Dussehra is celebrated as the victory of truth over falsehood. On this day, effigies of Ravana, Kumbhakarna, and Meghnada are constructed and set ablaze. After the burning of Ravana’s effigy, one should bring home a small piece of the charred wood or some ash from it. Doing so is believed to bring positivity into the home and open doors to happiness and prosperity.
2- Sighting a 'Neelkanth' (Indian Roller) bird on the day of Dussehra is considered highly auspicious. It is believed that catching a glimpse of this bird helps remove obstacles from one's life.
3- According to astrology, certain remedies involving the 'Shami' tree are highly effective and beneficial on Dussehra. Worshipping the Shami tree on this day helps in achieving victory over enemies and provides relief from legal hurdles.
4- Worshipping Lord Hanuman on the day of Dussehra is considered very auspicious. Reciting the 'Sundarkand' and offering 'boondi' laddus and 'paan' (betel leaf) to Lord Hanuman on this day is believed to be highly beneficial.
5- On the day of Dussehra, it is customary to worship Lord Ganesha and Goddess Lakshmi. Be sure to offer a coconut during the worship; doing so ensures that there will never be a shortage of wealth in your home, and it brings happiness and prosperity into your life.
6- On the day of Dussehra, visit a temple near your home to offer prayers and donate a broom. This practice helps strengthen your financial situation and ensures that your household treasury (or safe) remains full.
