Foot Care During the Rainy Season: While the rainy season offers relief from the heat, it also makes foot care essential. Constant moisture, wet footwear, mud, and sweat can lead to an accumulation of dirt on your feet. Therefore, keeping your feet clean and thoroughly dry is crucial. Your skin may require extra care, especially if you wear wet shoes or socks for extended periods.

Instead of visiting expensive salons during the monsoon, you can follow a simple pedicure routine at home about twice a week. You don't need many supplies for this; using lukewarm water, a mild soap or cleanser, a foot scrub, and a moisturizer can help keep your feet clean and soft.
During the pedicure, focus on soaking your feet in clean water, gently removing dead skin, and trimming your nails properly. Most importantly, ensure you dry your feet thoroughly after cleaning—paying special attention to the spaces between your toes. Let’s look at the right way to perform a simple pedicure at home during the rainy season.
How to do a pedicure at home during the rainy season:
1. Clean your feet thoroughly first
Fill a tub with lukewarm water and add a little mild soap or foot cleanser. Soak your feet in the water for about 10 minutes. This helps loosen accumulated dirt and softens the skin.
2. Scrub gently
Now, use a foot scrub to gently massage your heels and feet. Avoid scrubbing too hard, as this can cause skin irritation or minor abrasions. Do not use the scrub on sensitive or cracked skin.
3. Clean your nails
Clean your toenails and trim them as needed. Avoid cutting the nails too short or too deep into the corners. You can file the edges after trimming.
4. Dry your feet thoroughly
This is the most important step during the monsoon. After drying your feet with a clean towel, make sure to thoroughly dry the areas between your toes as well. It is important to prevent moisture from lingering for too long.
5. Apply moisturizer
Finally, apply a good moisturizer or foot cream to your feet. If your heels are particularly dry, you can apply the cream at night and wear cotton socks.
Keep these points in mind as well:
Do not wear wet socks or shoes for extended periods.
Use clean, dry socks every day.
Avoid walking barefoot in public places.
If you notice persistent symptoms such as itching, redness, pain, swelling, sores, or skin infections, consult a doctor or dermatologist instead of relying on a home pedicure.
Note: A pedicure is intended for general skin care. Do not use it as a treatment for infections or serious skin conditions.
