Papmochani Ekadashi 2026: Of all the Ekadashis, Papmochani Ekadashi is considered special. Its effect destroys the devotee's sins and grants salvation. In Hinduism, this fast is considered highly auspicious and virtuous for gaining the blessings of Lord Vishnu. It is believed that this fast is observed on the Ekadashi Tithi of the Krishna Paksha (dark fortnight) of the month of Chaitra. According to religious beliefs, worshipping Lord Vishnu and Goddess Lakshmi on this day brings an end to one's sufferings and increases happiness and prosperity in life. When is Papmochani Ekadashi 2026?
The Ekadashi Tithi will begin on March 14th at 8:10 am.
This Tithi will end on March 15th at 9:16 am.
According to the Udaya Tithi, the fast of Papamochani Ekadashi will be observed on March 15th.
On this day, the conjunction of Shravan Nakshatra and Paridha Yoga will prevail.
The fast will be broken on March 16th at 9:30 am on the Dwadashi Tithi.
Papamochani Ekadashi Puja Method
For the Papamochani Ekadashi puja, install an idol or picture of Lord Vishnu on a clean platform.
Now offer yellow clothes to the Lord and adorn him with a garland of flowers.
Follow this by filling a clean pot with water and adding basil leaves.

During this time, place a coin, sweets, and betel nut in the pot and place it near Lord Vishnu.
Now, light a ghee lamp and chant the mantra "Om Namo Bhagwate Vasudevaya."
After this, offer Panchamrit while chanting the mantra "Om Vishnuve Namah."
Be sure to offer jaggery and gram as offerings. This fulfills all desires.
Now recite the Vishnu Chalisa and conclude the puja with aarti.
