Sarva Pitru Amavasya 2026 Astrological Remedies: The new moon day (Amavasya) of the Ashwin month is known as Sarva Pitru Amavasya and marks the final day of Pitru Paksha. On this day, ancestors are bid farewell and their blessings are sought through rituals such as *Shraddha*, *Pind Daan*, *Tarpan*, and the worship of the Peepal tree. However, this year, Sarva Pitru Amavasya coincides with *Shanishchari Amavasya* (a new moon falling on a Saturday), further enhancing the significance of the day. According to astrology, performing specific remedies involving the Peepal tree on Sarva Pitru Amavasya not only pleases the ancestors but also invokes the grace of Lord Shani (Saturn). These remedies help alleviate various afflictions, including *Pitru Dosh* (ancestral affliction), and bring satisfaction to the souls of the ancestors. Let us explore the remedies involving the Peepal tree for Sarva Pitru Amavasya...

Worship the Peepal Tree
Worshipping the Peepal tree on Sarva Pitru Amavasya is considered highly auspicious. On this day, offer a mixture of water, milk, and black sesame seeds to the Peepal tree. Follow this by offering five types of sweets and lighting a *ghee* (clarified butter) lamp. Then, sit beneath the tree, meditate on your ancestors, and seek forgiveness for any mistakes—whether committed knowingly or unknowingly. Finally, perform seven circumambulations (*parikrama*) while mentally sharing your problems and concerns.
Light a Lamp Beneath the Peepal Tree
On the evening of Sarva Pitru Amavasya, light seven lamps made of wheat flour and filled with mustard oil beneath the Peepal tree. Meditate on your ancestors and Lord Shani, praying for their continued blessings. Doing so provides relief from *Pitru Dosh* and secures the blessings of both the ancestors and Lord Shani.
Chant This Mantra
On the day of Sarva Pitru Amavasya, offer sugar, rice, water, raw milk, and flowers at the roots of the Peepal tree. After this, chant the mantra "Om Pitribhyah Namah"; reciting the *Pitru Sukta* or *Pitru Stotra* is also considered auspicious. Doing so satisfies the souls of the ancestors, who in turn bestow blessings of happiness, peace, and prosperity.

Worship Lord Shani
Since *Shanishchari Amavasya* coincides with *Sarvapitra Amavasya* this year, worshipping Lord Shani alongside the ancestors is considered highly rewarding. Visit a temple dedicated to Lord Shani, donate mustard oil, and recite the *Shani Chalisa*. This practice helps mitigate the adverse effects of *Shani Dosha* and *Pitru Dosha* while bringing mental peace.
