The ninth house of any birth chart is called the place of religion. It is also the place of fortune. If the ninth house is affected by bad planets in any way, then it indicates that the wishes of the ancestors remained unfulfilled. The naturally bad planets, the Sun, Mars, and Saturn, do their work in only a few ascendants, but Rahu and Ketu give their ill effects in all the ascendants.

If the ninth house, the lord of the ninth house, the ninth house from the Moon sign, and the lord of the ninth house from the Moon sign are affected by Rahu or Ketu, then it causes Pitra Dosh. The person suffering from this Dosh keeps facing some kind of problem or another. His education is not completed, or he keeps yearning for livelihood, or he may become mentally or physically handicapped. In this way, he faces many problems in his life.

One hundred and eight times circumambulation

On Somvati Amavasya (the Amavasya which falls on Monday), go near the Peepal tree. Offer a sacred thread to that Peepal tree and offer a sacred thread in the name of Lord Vishnu to that Peepal tree. Pray to the Peepal tree and Lord Vishnu, and circumambulate the Peepal tree 108 times.

After every circumambulation, offer a sweet to the Peepal tree as much as possible. While circumambulating, keep chanting the mantra 'Om Namo Bhagwate Vasudevay'. After completing the circumambulation, again pray to the Peepal tree and Lord Vishnu. Ask for forgiveness from them for all the crimes you have committed knowingly or unknowingly. Worshipping on Somvati Amavasya starts yielding good results very soon.
