PM Kisan Yojana: Will the wait for the 24th installment end in October? ₹2,000 will be credited to the accounts of only these farmers..

Under the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojana (PM Kisan Yojana), the government provides financial assistance to crores of farmers across the country. Under this scheme, ₹6,000 is transferred annually to farmers' bank accounts in three equal installments of ₹2,000 each. The previous installment was released in June, and farmers nationwide are now eagerly awaiting the 24th installment.

Will the 24th installment arrive in October?
The primary question on farmers' minds is when the ₹2,000 for the 24th installment will be transferred to their accounts. According to the scheme's rules, installments are released at four-month intervals. Based on media reports and trends from previous years, it is highly likely that the government will release the 24th installment funds around the end of October or the beginning of November—coinciding with Diwali.

Which farmers might face delays in receiving the money?
To ensure your 24th installment reaches your bank account without any hitches, you must complete three crucial tasks mandated by the government:

1. To curb fraud, the government has made e-KYC mandatory for the scheme. Farmers who have not yet completed their e-KYC will not receive the installment benefit. You can complete this process via the PM Kisan portal or at a nearby CSC center.

2. Your bank account must be linked to your Aadhaar card and must be active for NPCI transactions. Funds are transferred directly via the Aadhaar-based payment system.

3. State governments are currently verifying farmers' land records. Owning agricultural land in your name is mandatory, and the 'Land Seeding' status on the portal must be marked as 'Yes'.

However, neither the Ministry of Agriculture nor the government has announced a confirmed date for the release of the 24th installment yet. Farmers are advised to keep an eye on the official website for updates. Typically, the government announces the date a week or ten days before disbursing the scheme's funds. So far, there has been no update regarding this. Consequently, it is being speculated that the upcoming installment of PM Kisan might not be released in September.
