According to Vastu Shastra and religious beliefs, idols and images of deities placed in the shrine should be positioned in the correct direction and kept in appropriate numbers and forms. It is believed that certain types of idols or images should not be kept in the home shrine, as they are deemed unsuitable for worship. Damaged or Broken Idols
According to religious beliefs, damaged or broken idols should never be kept in the shrine. Such idols are not subjected to regular worship. If an idol gets damaged, tradition dictates that it should be properly immersed in a water body or respectfully placed elsewhere.

Multiple Idols of the Same Deity
Vastu principles and certain religious traditions hold that multiple idols or images of the same deity should not be kept together in the shrine, as this can create clutter. It is considered better to install only one principal idol or image of each deity.

Images Depicting Fierce or Angry Forms

Very Large Idols
