Sharad Purnima 2026: Worship Goddess Lakshmi in this way on this day, and your financial distress will come to an end..

Sharad Purnima holds special religious and spiritual significance in Hinduism. According to tradition, worshipping Lord Shri Hari Vishnu and Goddess Lakshmi with prescribed rituals on this day brings happiness, prosperity, and good fortune. In astrology, too, Sharad Purnima is considered an exceptionally auspicious time to seek the blessings of Goddess Lakshmi. It is believed that performing certain specific rituals on this day fosters the flow of positive energy within the home and helps in overcoming financial difficulties.

Pandit Kalki Ram, an astrologer from Ayodhya, explains that Sharad Purnima holds a unique importance in Sanatan Dharma. According to the Hindu calendar, the fast for Sharad Purnima will be observed this year on October 25th, while rituals involving ritual bathing and charity will take place on October 26th. The full moon (Purnima) will be visible on the night of October 25th. On this occasion, followers of Sanatan Dharma prepare *kheer* (a traditional rice pudding) and place it under the open sky. It is a religious belief that on the night of Sharad Purnima, the moon’s rays shower *amrit* (nectar). According to Pandit Kalki Ram, alongside worshipping Goddess Lakshmi and Lord Vishnu, one can perform specific remedies on this day; these practices help maintain peace and happiness within the family and invite the blessings of Goddess Lakshmi.

Light a Ghee Lamp
According to astrologers, one should light a *ghee* (clarified butter) lamp at the home’s place of worship on the evening of Sharad Purnima. It is considered particularly auspicious to light this lamp before an image of Goddess Lakshmi. Tradition suggests using an image that depicts Goddess Lakshmi seated upon a lotus flower. Following this, one should offer a lotus flower to the Goddess and perform worship according to the prescribed rituals. Chanting the mantras of Goddess Lakshmi during the worship is also considered highly auspicious. Devotees may chant the *Beej Mantra* of Goddess Lakshmi with sincere devotion; this brings peace to the mind and invites happiness and prosperity into one’s life.

Worship until Diwali
Pandit Kalki Ram states that performing regular worship of Goddess Lakshmi from Sharad Purnima until Diwali is especially rewarding. During this period, one should pay particular attention to keeping the home clean, ensuring the sanctity of the place of worship, and lighting lamps regularly. Worshipping Goddess Lakshmi with faith and devotion fosters an atmosphere of happiness, peace, and prosperity within the home.
