Nowadays smartphones have become a big part of our lives. But do you know how much time Indians spend watching their phones? And how many people are earning crores by watching reels, watching movies on their phones? Recently a report has come out, which states that Indians have spent more than 1.1 lakh crore hours on smartphones, and entertainment media and gaming companies have benefited a lot from this.

Wherever you go out, go with someone. You must have noticed. Or you. After talking to each other for some time, you must be busy with the phone. You must be watching reels. Not only you, but a large population of the whole country is doing this nowadays. Be it metro or hotel. Be it a place to sit together and eat at home or in your room, people keep their heads bent and busy with their phones. Entertainment companies are benefiting from this. According to the data, it is known that Indians use the phone for 1.1 lakh crore hours and OTT platforms, and social media platforms earn lakhs of crores from it.
Indians use phones for an average of 5 hours daily.
In the annual entertainment report released by EY, it was told that Indians used phones for 1.1 lakh crore hours in the year 2024. The report said that due to the cheap internet, people have used phones a lot. People in the country have used phones for an average of 5 hours daily. In that too, 70 percent of the people have used phones while using social media platforms, video platforms, and gaming.

People earned money by watching your reels.
The report states that due to people using phones, the media and entertainment industry in the country became Rs 2.5 lakh crore in the year 2024, which has surpassed television for the first time. In the year 2024, the entertainment industry benefited more from people using phones than television.
