So, if you want to celebrate Lohri at home this year and prefer to make rewari at home instead of buying it from the market, here's a very easy and delicious recipe for you. Making rewari is not difficult, and it can be prepared with just four main ingredients.
Homemade rewari is fresh, delicious, and healthier. This Lohri, you can delight your family and friends with homemade rewari and add to the sweetness of the festival.
Ingredients for Making Rewari:
Sesame seeds – 1 cup
Jaggery – 3/4 cup
Ghee – 1 teaspoon
Cardamom powder – 1/4 teaspoon
Instructions:
To make rewari at home, first, put the sesame seeds in a pan and roast them lightly over low heat. Remove them from the heat when they become fragrant and turn a light golden color. Roasting the sesame seeds properly makes the rewari crispy.
After roasting the sesame seeds, heat the jaggery and ghee in another pan over low heat. Stir the jaggery continuously to prevent it from burning. When the jaggery has completely melted and thickened to a slightly sticky consistency, the mixture is ready. Now, add the roasted sesame seeds to the jaggery and mix well.
At this point, stir the mixture quickly so that the sesame seeds and jaggery mix well together and the jaggery coats all the sesame seeds evenly. Add a little cardamom powder for enhanced flavor and mix the mixture well for one minute.

Pour the mixture onto a greased plate or tray and flatten it. You can spread it evenly using a rolling pin or a spoon. Let the mixture cool for about 20-25 minutes. Once it has completely cooled and set, cut it into your desired shapes. Your revdi is ready!
