Rule Changes from September 1: Vehicles and milk become costlier, foreign travel gets easier; these major changes come into effect today..

The month of September has begun, and several major rule changes have come into effect today that will directly impact the common man. From milk prices to boarding pass regulations, these changes affect everyone. While some rules may increase the financial burden, others offer some relief. Let’s take a look at the rules changing from today:

1. LPG Cylinder e-KYC
The deadline for completing e-KYC for domestic LPG cylinders was August 31, 2026. If you haven't completed the KYC process, you might face difficulties—such as issues booking a cylinder or the suspension of your subsidy. To avoid any trouble, contact your gas company immediately.

2. Car Purchases Become Costlier
If you are planning to buy a car this month, you might be in for a shock. Starting today, September 1, vehicles from Tata and Hyundai have become more expensive. Tata Motors has raised the prices of its car and SUV variants by up to ₹25,000, while Hyundai has also hiked the prices of its cars once again this year.

3. A Blow Regarding Milk Prices
Residents of Mumbai have been hit by a significant price hike. Starting today, the price of 'tabela' (dairy-farm supplied) milk in Mumbai has gone up by ₹9 per litre; milk that previously cost ₹93 per litre will now cost ₹102 per litre. Additionally, auto-rickshaw and taxi fares in Mumbai have been increased today—taxi fares have risen by ₹2 per km, and auto fares by ₹1 per km.

4. Easier International Travel
A rule bringing much relief to international travelers has come into effect today. The old hassle of getting a physical stamp on the boarding pass at the airport immigration counter when traveling abroad from India has been eliminated. Travelers can now easily complete the immigration process by simply showing an electronic boarding pass on their mobile phones or a printed copy of it.

5. Changes in Gold-Silver ETF Rules
The Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI) has implemented new rules regarding ETF trading, which came into effect on September 1. Under the new regulations, the average price based on the trading volume during the last 30 minutes of the previous trading day will serve as the basis for determining the price limits of ETFs. This ensures that the ETF price remains aligned with current market conditions.
