This day is considered highly auspicious for performing *Tarpan* (rituals to honor ancestors), acts of charity, *Japa-Tapa* (chanting and penance), and the worship of Goddess Lakshmi. **How ​​to Perform Worship on Sawan Amavasya Evening**
He advised that on the evening of *Amavasya*, before 7 PM, one should place an image of Goddess Lakshmi at the place of worship where she is depicted seated on a lotus or an elephant. He specifically advised against using an image of Goddess Lakshmi seated on an owl for this particular ritual. Afterward, light a lamp of pure *ghee* (clarified butter) before the Goddess. Create a small mound of rice at the place of worship, place a turmeric knot (*haldi ki gaanth*) on top of it, and meditate on Goddess Lakshmi with deep devotion.
