You must have eaten traditional dosa many times, but have you ever tasted onion dosa made of semolina? Whoever eats this South Indian-style dish, gets a shower of praises. Anyway, if you get this wonderful thing at breakfast in the morning, then the mood remains good the whole day. Semolina and rice flour are used in it. It is very easy to make. It does not take much time to prepare. If guests have come to the house, then onion dosa can also be served to them for breakfast. This time whenever you wish to eat something different, then definitely try it.

Ingredients

Semolina (Rava) - 1 cup
Finely chopped onions - 3
Rice flour - 1 cup
Chopped ginger - 1/2 piece
Roasted cashews - 3 tsp
Chopped green chilies - 3
Cumin seeds - 1/4 tsp
Asafoetida - 1 pinch
Black pepper - 1/2 tsp
Oil - as per requirement
Salt - as per taste

Method

- First of all, take a deep bottom vessel add semolina and rice flour in it, and mix well.

- Now add some water to this mixture and mix. Then add cumin seeds, asafoetida, and salt as per taste and mix properly.

- Now cover the prepared batter and keep it in a warm place for 3 hours. During this time, cut onion, ginger, green chilies, and cashews into fine pieces.

- By keeping the batter in a warm place, it will swell a little. Now add all the ingredients except finely chopped onion in the batter and mix.

- After this, add water little by little as per the need and mix. Mix water till the batter becomes thin.

- After this, heat a non-stick pan/tawa on medium flame. After the pan is heated, add some oil and spread it all around.

- Now take the dosa batter in a bowl put it in the middle of the pan and spread it in a circular motion. After frying the dosa for some time, put finely chopped onion and green chilies on it.

- Now press the onion lightly on the dosa with the back of the spoon and fry it for 2 to 3 minutes.

- During this, apply oil on the edges of the dosa. After some time, flip the dosa and fry it till it becomes golden brown.

- After this, fold the dosa and take it out on a plate. Similarly, prepare onion dosas with all the batter. Serve them with sambhar or chutney.
