Shahrukh told that his grandmother was Kashmiri, due to which he had a deep connection with Kashmir. But despite this, he has not visited Kashmir till date. The reason for this, he told was a promise made to his father.

'Don't see Kashmir without me'

Shahrukh told in the show- 'My father had told me that in life you must see three places - Istanbul, Rome and Kashmir. But he said that you can see the other two places without me, but don't see Kashmir without me, I will show you myself.' This thing settled in his heart. Even after his father's death, he kept himself away from going to Kashmir, no matter how many opportunities he got.

Shahrukh further said- 'Papa left very early. I have traveled the whole world, but never went to Kashmir. Friends invited me, family went, plans were made during holidays, but I never dared to do so because my father had said that I will not see Kashmir without him.'
