Shani Jayanti 2026: Shani Jayanti, celebrated on the *Amavasya* (New Moon) Tithi of the month of *Jyeshtha*, holds special significance in the Hindu religion. In the year 2026, Shani Jayanti will be observed on May 16th. According to the scriptures, this is the very day on which Lord Shani—the Deity of Justice—was born. It is believed that for any individual who worships Lord Shani with a sincere heart on this day, the obstacles currently present in their life gradually begin to dissipate.

Furthermore, the worship, charitable acts, and remedial measures performed on Shani Jayanti open up new avenues for progress in one's career and business; stalled tasks gain momentum, and one's financial situation begins to show signs of improvement. Moreover, for those currently under the influence of *Shani Dosha*, *Sade Sati*, or *Dhaiya*, this day is considered to be particularly auspicious and fruitful. In light of this, let us explore some of these powerful remedial measures.
**Light a Four-Faced Lamp Beneath a Peepal Tree**
On the day of Shani Jayanti, it is considered highly auspicious to fashion a four-faced lamp (*Choumukha Deepak*) out of flour, fill it with mustard oil, and light it beneath a Peepal tree. You should also add a few grains of black sesame seeds (*Kala Til*) to the lamp. It is believed that this practice appeases *Shani Dosha* (afflictions caused by Saturn) and helps to gradually dispel any negative energy present in one's life.
**Donate Black-Colored Objects**
On this day, donating black shoes, a black umbrella, black clothing, or other useful items to the needy is considered an auspicious act. According to astrological beliefs, such acts please Lord Shani, leading to a reduction in the obstacles and financial difficulties encountered in one's life.
**Donate Oil After Viewing Your Reflection in It**
On Shani Jayanti, take a bowl of mustard oil. Gaze at your own reflection within the oil, and then donate that oil to a Shani temple. It is believed that this remedial measure is effective in mitigating the adverse effects of *Shani's Sade Sati* and *Dhaiya*.
**Donate Black Gram (Urad Dal)**
Donating black gram (*Kala Urad*) on Shani Jayanti is also considered to be an extremely fruitful practice. According to religious beliefs, this act invokes the divine grace of Lord Shani and provides the individual with relief from financial troubles, obstacles caused by adversaries, and hindrances encountered in their endeavors. Performing special worship and rituals for Lord Hanuman and Lord Shiva on Shani Jayanti is considered highly auspicious. It is believed that worshipping Lord Hanuman mitigates the adverse effects of Lord Shani and dispels fear, stress, and negativity.

**Recite Shani Mantras and the Chalisa**
On the day of Shani Jayanti, recite the Shani Chalisa and chant the mantra "Om Sham Shanaishcharaya Namah." Doing so is considered extremely beneficial. It is said that chanting this mantra brings peace to the mind.
