Shivling ke Niyam: Can we eat Prasad offered on Shivling? Know the beliefs related to it..

According to Hindu beliefs, accepting prasad is considered very auspicious, it keeps the blessings of the gods and goddesses on us. But on the contrary, eating the prasad offered on Shivling (Shivling Prasad) or bringing it home is not considered auspicious at all. There are many religious beliefs behind this. Let's know about them.

Why is Shivling Prasad inauspicious?

According to mythological beliefs, the prasad offered on Shivling is dedicated to Chandeshwar, who is known as the Gan of Lord Shiva. Chandeshwar is also the head of ghosts and spirits. In such a situation, negativity prevails in the prasad offered by Shivling.

That is why one should never accept the prasad offered on Shivling made of clay, stone, or porcelain. Instead of this, you can eat the prasad offered on the idol of Lord Shiva, which is considered auspicious. It is said in the Shiv Purana that by accepting the prasad offered to Mahadev, a person's innumerable sins are destroyed.

What to do with Prasad

You can flow the Prasad offered on Shivling in a flowing river, the person is not blamed for it. But you can eat the Prasad offered on Shivling made of metal like silver, copper, and brass, it does not cause any harm. Prasad offered on Parad Shivling can also be eaten.

Keep these things in mind too.

Some people make Shivling from clay at home on Sawan Monday or in general and worship it. Therefore, the Prasad offered on the earthen Shivling made of clay should also not be consumed, rather it should be flown in water.
