New Study on Sleep Pattern: Many times after sleeping at night, our eyes open directly in the morning. Some days it happens that the sleep breaks repeatedly at night. Have you ever wondered why you do not get good sleep every day? Now scientists have found out the reason for this. A new study has revealed that our sleeping pattern changes a lot according to the day of the week, weather, and place. Because of this, sometimes people sleep more, and sometimes they have to spend the night changing sides.

This research has been done by scientists at Australia's Flinders University. 1.16 lakh people were included in this and data was collected continuously for 3.5 years. An under-mattress device was used to track data related to sleep. In this, the time and duration of people's sleep were measured. In the analysis of this research, it was found that sleep changes not only due to our habits but also due to the environment like daylight, temperature, and routine throughout the week.
Flinders University sleep expert Hannah Scott said that weather also has a big impact on human sleep. People's sleep time is related to their age, area, and geographical location. In the Northern Hemisphere like Europe and America, people sleep 15–20 minutes more in winter, while in the Southern Hemisphere like Australia, people sleep less in summer. People who live away from the equator see more changes in their sleep according to the season. Apart from this, people sleep late on weekends and try to complete their sleep by sleeping longer. Especially middle-aged people try to balance work and family on weekends.
According to this study published in Sleep, not getting good sleep every day can have a bad effect on health. The surprising thing is that people's sleep is gradually declining. From 2020 to 2023, the average sleep of people has decreased by about 2.5 minutes every year and the reason for this is the effect of the Kovid-19 epidemic. Irregular sleep can not only cause fatigue but can also be dangerous for health. Therefore, we need to understand how our environment and routine affect our sleep so that it can be improved. Although this research was done on people who use technology a lot. Still, it shows that for better sleep, it is important to keep the weather and time in mind.
