Surajkund Mela 2025: Surajkund Mela, one of the largest handicraft fairs in India, has started. This year the fair started on 7 February and will continue till 23 February. This grand fair is organized in Surajkund located in the Faridabad district of Haryana. Thousands of people from Delhi-NCR and its surrounding areas attend the Surajkund Fair held every year. Apart from this, craftsmen, artists, and handloom weavers from all over the country also gather here. History of Surajkund
Suraj Kund means "Pond of the Sun". This area also has historical importance, as it was built in the 10th century during the reign of Tomar King Suraj Pal. King Surajpal was a worshipper of the Sun and he built Surajkund for water conservation. Due to this historical background, this fair was named 'Surajkund Mela'.
How to go to Surajkund Mela?
This fair is held in Faridabad, for which you can go from Delhi via metro. The nearest metro station for this is Badarpur (Violet Line). From there you can reach the fair site via auto or cab. The distance from Surajkund to Delhi by road is about 23 km, which can be covered by private vehicle or bus. Haryana Roadways and DTC buses are available from Delhi, Gurgaon, and Faridabad, which will take you to the fair site.
Ticket for Surajkund Mela
The entry ticket for Surajkund Mela is Rs 120. This ticket is valid for visiting the fair on weekdays i.e. from Monday to Friday. If you are going to see Surajkund Mela on Saturday and Sunday, then you will have to take a ticket of Rs 180. You can book tickets through the Sarathi app of Delhi Metro. Apart from this, you can also buy tickets from special counters at Delhi Metro stations or ticket counters built at the fair site.

Stalls of various types of dishes are set up on the fair premises itself, where the prices of food can vary. You can spend on handicraft products. The prices of products can vary according to the product and the seller. From travel to food and drinks, you can spend around Rs 2000. The rest depends on shopping. To visit within budget, definitely take about 5000 rupees.

The fair is being organized from 7 February. You can come here anytime till 23 February. The fair is open from 10 am to 7 pm. Try to go on weekdays as there is more crowd on weekends. The fairgrounds can be huge and tiring, so wear comfortable shoes. Carry a water bottle and as much cash as you need.
