Deadline Approaching: Complete e-KYC by March 31 to Avoid Ration Disruption
If you are a ration card holder, an important deadline is approaching! The government has made it mandatory for all ration card beneficiaries to complete their e-KYC process by March 31, 2025. Failure to do so may result in the cancellation of your ration card, making you ineligible for free ration distribution under government schemes.
What Happens If You Miss the Deadline?
If you fail to complete your e-KYC by March 31, your name may be removed from the ration card, and you will no longer receive the benefits of subsidized food grain distribution. This rule applies to all ration cardholders across different states.
How to Complete e-KYC for Your Ration Card?
To complete the e-KYC process, visit your nearest Public Distribution System (PDS) shop or authorized dealer. For those residing outside their home state, there is no need to return to their native place for Aadhaar verification. Beneficiaries can visit the nearest PDS shop wherever they are and complete the e-KYC process via an e-POS machine.
State-Wise e-KYC Deadlines and Guidelines
Jharkhand:
The state government has set the final deadline for e-KYC completion as March 31, 2025. Ration cardholders can visit their nearest PDS shop or dealer for biometric verification. In case of any difficulties, individuals can reach out to the District Supply Office for assistance.
Bihar:
The Bihar government has also mandated March 31, 2025, as the last date for e-KYC. The process is free of cost and can be completed at the dealer’s shop. Additionally, from 10 AM to 12 PM every day, beneficiaries can avail themselves of the Facial e-KYC service using the ‘Mera e-KYC’ and ‘AadhaarFaceRD’ apps, allowing them to complete verification from any location via their mobile phones.
Punjab:
In Punjab, the government has set a similar deadline of March 31, 2025. Ration cardholders who have not yet completed their e-KYC must do so at their nearest ration depot immediately. Those who fail to comply will be excluded from the ration distribution list from April 2025 onwards.
Why is e-KYC Important for Ration Cardholders?
The e-KYC (Electronic Know Your Customer) process is essential to verify the identity of ration cardholders, preventing fraud and ensuring that only eligible beneficiaries receive government aid. Aadhaar verification is a crucial part of this initiative, helping the government eliminate duplicate or fake ration cards.
Key Benefits of Completing e-KYC:
- Ensures continued access to free or subsidized ration benefits.
- Eliminates fraudulent ration cardholders from the system.
- Links Aadhaar details with ration cards for streamlined identification.
- Facilitates hassle-free access to other government welfare schemes.
Final Reminder:
If you have not yet completed your e-KYC, act now! Visit your nearest ration depot or PDS shop before March 31, 2025, to avoid any disruption in receiving your free ration benefits. Stay informed and ensure your family continues to receive essential food supplies under government welfare schemes.
