South direction: Planting the Shami plant in the 'south direction' on the balcony, courtyard, or terrace of the house is considered most auspicious.

Outside the house: If you are planting it at the main entrance of the house, plant it in such a way that it is on your right side when you are leaving the house.

Forbidden inside the house: Remember that the Shami plant should never be planted inside the rooms of the house. It should always be kept in an open space such as a terrace or balcony.

Precautions and special rules: While planting the Shami plant, it is important to follow some specific rules, otherwise, it may have adverse effects:

Distance from Tulsi: Tulsi is forbidden in the worship of Lord Shiva, while Shami is dear to him. Therefore, according to Vastu, Shami and Tulsi plants should never be planted very close to each other.

Maintain cleanliness: Pay special attention to cleanliness where the Shami plant is planted. Do not keep garbage, shoes, slippers, or torn and old clothes near the plant. Dirt reduces its positive effects. 

Relief from Saturn's ill effects: Those who are experiencing the effects of Saturn's Sade Sati or Dhaiya (periods of Saturn's influence) should regularly light a lamp with mustard oil near a Shami plant. This provides relief from the adverse effects of Saturn.

The Shami plant is not just a plant, but a symbol of good fortune. If it is planted in the home according to proper Vastu principles and cared for with devotion, it brings mental peace, financial prosperity, and divine protection to the family.
