Vicky Kaushal's latest release Chhava is a historical action film. The film is doing very well at the box office in India and abroad. Dinesh Vijan's film directed by Laxman Utekar has received a great response from critics and audiences. The film has grossed over Rs 240 crore (net earnings of Rs 198 crore) in the domestic market within six days.

The film's collection saw a huge jump on February 19, as Maharashtra had a public holiday for Chhatrapati Shivaji Jayanti. The holiday gave a huge boost to the collections nationally. Chhava grossed Rs 32 crore in India on Wednesday, which is 27% higher than the Rs 25.25 crore collection on Tuesday.

The Vicky Kaushal film has grossed Rs 292 crore worldwide and is expected to cross the Rs 300 crore mark worldwide with Friday's overseas collections.

Vicky was not the first choice for Chhava.

Meanwhile, a new update has come regarding the casting of Chhava. It is said that Vicky Kaushal was not the first choice of the makers for the role of Chhatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj. A South superstar was first considered for this role. According to the Telugu Chitralu portal, Mahesh Babu was the first choice for the role of Sambhaji Maharaj. Director Laxman Utekar had first approached Mahesh Babu, but he did not show any interest thus he approached Vicky Kaushal and he immediately agreed.
