Throughout the year, devotees eagerly await the commencement of this pilgrimage.

**Where and How to Register?**
Registration for the Amarnath Yatra can be done via both online and offline methods. For online registration, you may apply by visiting the official website of the Shri Amarnathji Shrine Board (SASB) at jksasb.nic.in. Additionally, registration can also be completed through the Board's mobile application. Regarding offline registration, one can register for the Amarnath Yatra by visiting any of the more than 540 authorized bank branches located across the country. These include numerous branches of Punjab National Bank, State Bank of India, Jammu & Kashmir Bank, Yes Bank, and Axis Bank.
**Documents Required for Registration**
To register for the Amarnath Yatra, a Compulsory Health Certificate (CHC) is the most essential requirement. This certificate must be obtained exclusively from doctors authorized by the Board. Please note that only those certificates issued on or after April 8, 2026, will be considered valid. Furthermore, one valid identity card—such as an Aadhaar Card, Voter ID, or Passport—is required. For the registration form, ensure you have at least 4 to 5 recent photographs with you. The registration fee for the Amarnath Yatra is ₹150, which must be deposited either online or through a bank branch. Your registration will be considered complete only after this payment has been made.
**Eligibility and Rules for the Yatra**
The Shrine Board has established strict regulations for the Amarnath Yatra. Only individuals aged between 13 and 70 years are permitted to undertake the pilgrimage. People under the age of 13 or over the age of 70 are not allowed to participate in the Amarnath Yatra. Additionally, women who are more than six weeks pregnant are not permitted to undertake this journey. Every pilgrim will be issued a Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) card. It is mandatory to wear this card around the neck throughout the entire journey so that security agencies can track your location.

Choose the Right Route for the Amarnath Yatra
When registering for the Amarnath Yatra, you are required to select your preferred route. The first option is the Pahalgam route, which spans a distance of approximately 48 kilometers. While this is considered the easier path, it takes 3 to 4 days to reach the holy cave. The ascent along this route is gradual. The Baltal route covers a distance of approximately 14 kilometers. From here, you can reach the cave within a single day; however, the ascent is quite steep and challenging. You may choose either of these routes based on your physical endurance and capability.
