Hair Care: This onion and curry leaf oil is a 'sure-fire' remedy for hair loss during the monsoon..

Hair loss is the most common problem during the rainy season. Humidity causes scalp stickiness, and pollution weakens the hair, leading to excessive shedding. If you are looking for a solution to this issue, onion oil can prove effective; the best part is that you can make it at home instead of buying it.

Onion Oil to Reduce Hair Fall During the Monsoon
Onions contain a nutrient called sulfur, which strengthens keratin—the protein found in hair. Additionally, their antibacterial properties help protect the scalp from infections. Let’s look at the method for making onion oil and the correct way to apply it:

Ingredients
1 cup coconut oil

2-3 medium-sized onions

8-10 curry leaves

1 teaspoon fenugreek seeds

Method
To make onion oil, first soak the fenugreek seeds overnight.

The next day, peel the 2-3 medium-sized onions and chop them into small pieces.

Now, blend the onion pieces and fenugreek seeds in a mixer to create a paste.

Next, take an iron pan (kadhai), pour in the coconut oil, and heat it over a medium flame.

Add the 8-10 curry leaves to the oil and let them simmer for a while.

After one minute, add the onion and fenugreek seed paste.

Cook the oil with the mixture on a low flame for at least 20 minutes so that the nutrients from all the ingredients infuse into the oil.

Once the oil has boiled thoroughly, set it aside to cool down.

Then, strain the oil using a sieve into a container and store it in an airtight bottle.

Your hair-fall-control onion oil is ready.

Correct Way to Apply
As for application, you can use this onion oil twice a week before washing your hair with shampoo. Whenever you apply it, ensure it is thoroughly applied to the scalp and massage your head using gentle pressure. Then, keep your head covered for at least one hour. Once the time is up, wash it off with a mild shampoo.
