The teaser for South superstar Prabhas's upcoming film 'Fauji' has become embroiled in controversy. Chandra Kumar Bose, a family member of freedom fighter Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose, has raised objections regarding the portrayal of historical events in the film. He has demanded that the filmmakers remove the current teaser and release a new one.

Titled 'File No. 25', the teaser for 'Fauji' was released on October 23, coinciding with Prabhas's 47th birthday. Directed by Hanu Raghavapudi, the film's teaser opens in Berlin in 1942, depicting a fictional conversation between Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose and Adolf Hitler. It then introduces Prabhas as a 'super-spy' fighting against British rule.
Why has the teaser sparked controversy?
The controversy stems from the inclusion of real historical figures within a fictional narrative in the 'Fauji' teaser. Chandra Kumar Bose has supported the demand to remove the teaser and release a revised version.
The issue gained traction after social and political leader Suparno Satpathy shared the teaser on the social media platform X, questioning the appropriateness of incorporating historical figures into a fictional story.
In his post, Satpathy wrote, "Dear Hanu Raghavapudi garu, if I had to describe this teaser in one word, it would be 'goosebump-inducing.' However, blending history with fiction is not a good idea. Regardless, best wishes for the film, which is set to release on March 19, 2027. Long live Netaji, Jai Hind!"
Chandra Kumar's demand to the filmmakers
Following this, Chandra Kumar Bose reshared Satpathy's post on X, endorsing his demand. He argued that mixing history with fiction in the film could lead to the misrepresentation of historical facts. Chandra Kumar Bose wrote, "Blending fiction with history is a crime. I hope Hanu Raghavapudi and his team will remove this teaser and release a new one. They should also ensure that history is not distorted. I hope Prabhas reads this as well." By tagging Prabhas in his post, he expressed the hope that the actor would take note of his concerns.
