Mascara is considered an essential beauty product for achieving perfect eye makeup. It helps make eyelashes look thicker, longer, and more attractive, which is why most women keep it in their makeup kits. However, mascara often begins to dry out due to prolonged disuse, improper storage, or frequent opening and closing. In such situations, most people assume it is ruined and throw it away.

But buying a new mascara every time isn't necessary. With a few simple home remedies, dried-out mascara can be restored to a usable state. Additionally, taking a few small precautions can prevent it from drying out prematurely. So, the next time your favorite mascara dries up, try these easy tips instead of discarding it immediately.
**Use drops of hot water**
If your mascara has dried out, add 2–3 drops of hot water to it. Close the tube and let it sit for a few minutes. After a short while, the mascara should become softer and ready for use.
**Use eye drops**
Eye drops can also be effective in reviving dried mascara. Add one or two drops of eye drops into the mascara tube and seal it tightly. Gently shake the tube after a few minutes; this can improve the mascara's consistency.
**Place the tube in hot water**
Fill a container with hot water and submerge the mascara bottle in it for a few minutes. The heat can soften the product inside, making the mascara easy to use again.
**Keep these points in mind**
Do not leave the mascara cap open, and avoid repeatedly pumping the brush in and out. This allows air to enter, causing the mascara to dry out faster. Also, do not use the mascara if it has passed its expiration date or emits an unpleasant odor. It is safest to immediately discard such mascara, as it can cause eye infections or other problems.
