Following guidelines from the telecom regulator TRAI, Bharti Airtel has launched voice calling and SMS plans. The company stated that these recharge plans do not include data; they offer only calling facilities and SMS. Each of these plans provides 300 SMS and unlimited calling. Airtel has introduced three such voice and SMS-focused plans.

Airtel noted that these three plans differ in terms of price and validity. Under the framework set by TRAI, the most affordable option is priced at ₹185, with a validity of 28 days. This is followed by a ₹203 plan, which is valid for 30 days. The company has also introduced a plan with a one-month validity, priced at ₹206. In this context, "one month" covers the entire duration of the month, regardless of whether it has 28 or 31 days.
No internet access provided
All three of Airtel’s new plans offer unlimited voice calling and 300 free SMS. None of these plans include internet or data access. The company clarified that there is no data bundle, meaning these options are designed for customers who do not require internet data. Users who prioritize calling can choose a recharge plan that suits their specific needs. For customers who have no need for internet or data, these affordable plans will be quite useful.
TRAI’s deadline is October 21
Telecom regulator TRAI has set a deadline of October 21 for the introduction of tariffs that include voice and SMS services. This means that all telecom companies are required to launch such plans by this date. Airtel has already taken the initiative, and now it is the turn of Jio and Vodafone-Idea to follow suit. Both these companies will also have to launch their voice calling and SMS plans before October 21. In fact, TRAI had proposed this a month ago, stating that all telecom companies must introduce such recharge plans within 30 days.
