**Dal Chilla (Lentil Pancake)**
**Ingredients**
Ground Moong (split yellow mung beans) or Chana (split Bengal gram) dal
Finely chopped onion
Tomato
Green chili
Coriander leaves
Salt
Cumin seeds (Jeera)
Turmeric powder
Oil
**Method for making Dal Chilla**
Step 1- Grind the soaked lentils.
Step 2- Mix the finely chopped vegetables, spices, salt, etc., into the batter.
Step 3- Keep the batter at a medium consistency (neither too thick nor too thin).
Step 4- Lightly grease a tawa (griddle) and spread the batter like a pancake (chilla).
Step 5- Cook until golden brown on both sides. Serve the Dal Chilla with chutney. These healthy and delicious snacks are perfect for breakfast.
Dal Vada
Ingredients
Ground chana dal (split Bengal gram)
Ginger
Green chilies
Onion
Coriander leaves
Salt
Oil
Method
Step 1- Grind the soaked chana dal and mix in all the other ingredients to form a thick batter.
Step 2- Shape the mixture into small vadas (patties).
Step 3- Fry in hot oil until golden brown.
The Dal Vada is ready. Serve it with coconut or green chutney. It makes a fantastic snack to serve to guests along with tea.
Fara
Ingredients
Urad dal (split black gram) and chana dal
Rice flour or wheat flour
Ginger
Green chilies
Salt
Method
Step 1- Lightly roast the soaked dals in a pan.
Step 2- Mix in grated ginger, finely chopped green chilies, and salt.
Step 3- Knead the flour (rice or wheat) to form a dough.
Step 4- Roll out small balls of dough.
Step 5- Fill them with the cooled dal mixture.
Step 6- Shape them like momos or gujiyas.
Step 7- Steam them.
Step 8- Serve hot with chutney.
Step 9- Optionally, you can cut the steamed fara into pieces and stir-fry them with spices.

Dal Paratha
Ingredients
Wheat flour
Ground dal
Carom seeds (ajwain)
Fresh coriander leaves

Method
Step 1- Mix the ground dal and spices into the flour and knead into a dough.
Step 2- Make small balls from the dough and roll out parathas.
Step 3- Cook on a tawa (griddle) using ghee, roasting both sides until done.
Serve with curd, pickle, butter, or mint chutney. This is an excellent recipe for anything from breakfast to kids' tiffin boxes.
Siddu
Ingredients
Wheat flour or all-purpose flour (maida)
Instant yeast
Salt
Sugar
Ghee
Soaked urad dal (split black gram)
Ginger-garlic paste
Green chilies

How to make Siddu?
Step 1- Mix sugar, salt, and yeast into the flour and knead it well.
Step 2- Grease the kneaded dough with a little oil or ghee to make it smooth, then cover and set it aside for 2 hours to let it rise and double in volume.
Step 3- Combine the soaked dal with green chilies, ginger-garlic paste, and salt, then grind the mixture into a coarse, thick paste.
Step 4- Now, mix in finely chopped fresh coriander and garam masala.
Step 5- Take small portions of the dough and roll them out into thick discs.
Step 6- Place the dal filling in the center and seal the edges by folding them together.
Step 7- Finally, steam them in a steamer.
