According to a Filmfare report, Akshaye Khanna might return in 'Dhurandhar 2'. The report claims that the makers are planning to explore Rehman the dacoit's backstory in detail in the sequel.

The report, citing sources, claims that Akshaye Khanna will return to the set for a week of shooting. The aim is to expand on his character's backstory and make his role more layered in the next chapter of the franchise.

Ranveer Singh's film will be released simultaneously in five languages: Hindi, Telugu, Tamil, Kannada, and Malayalam. The first film, 'Dhurandhar', was a massive box office success. It became the first Indian film to collect ₹20 crore or more for 17 consecutive days. This is a feat that even big films like 'Dangal' and 'RRR' couldn't achieve.
