A sofa enhances the beauty of a living room, but in the rush of the moment, if tea spills on it, one often doesn't know what to do. We tend to simply react or start scrubbing it with a cloth, but by then, the stain has already marred the sofa's appearance.

Subsequently, people look for ways to clean the sofa and resort to expensive cleaners. However, there are several methods to prevent stains from setting in the first place.
Salt
Try the salt trick immediately after spilling tea or coffee on the sofa. Salt has excellent absorbent properties; sprinkling it right away on the spill can prevent a stain from forming. After a short while, wipe the area with a cloth dampened in a detergent solution and leave it to dry.
Tissue Paper
To absorb the spilled tea or coffee instantly, place 3-4 sheets of tissue paper over the area. Press down gently so that all the liquid is soaked up by the tissues. This method prevents the stain from seeping deep into the fabric.
Mild Liquid Detergent
To treat a stain, start by warming some water slightly and mixing in a mild liquid detergent. Dampen a cotton cloth in this mixture and gently dab it onto the stained area. Be careful to ensure the cloth isn't overly wet and that you apply it only to the stained spot, avoiding the surrounding areas.
Hydrogen Peroxide
If there is an old stain on your sofa, hydrogen peroxide can be used to remove it. To try this method, apply two drops of a 3% hydrogen peroxide solution directly onto the stained area. After leaving it on for 10–15 minutes, dab the area with a cloth dampened with cold water.

Before trying this, please note that the solution can lighten the fabric's color, so performing a patch test first is essential. Also, keep in mind that this method is suitable only for white or light-colored synthetic sofas.
