The warmth of ginger and the aroma of ghee make it special. Let's learn the easy recipe to make this halwa at home.

Ingredients
Fresh ginger - 500 grams
Ghee - 500 grams
Sugar - 500 grams (can be increased or decreased according to taste)
Milk - 500 ml
Khoya (reduced milk solids) - 500 grams
Cream - 125 grams
Almonds - 100 grams
Green cardamom - 5-6
Black cardamom - 2
Saffron - 4-5 strands
Kewra water - 3-4 drops
Chopped almonds - 50 grams for garnish

Step 1: Preparing the ginger
First, wash the ginger thoroughly and peel it. Leave the ginger in the water for some time to soften it. Then, grate it finely or grind it in a mixer grinder. This gives the halwa a good texture and balances the flavor. Also, mix the kewra water with the saffron.

Step 2: Heating the ghee
In a pan, heat 4 to 5 tablespoons of ghee, add the cardamom, and sauté for a few seconds. Then set it aside for later use.

Step 3: Sautéing the ginger
Add half a cup of milk to the ginger paste and cook it on low heat until the ginger softens. The flavor of ginger is enhanced with the milk. When the ginger starts to release its aroma and turns light golden in color, you know this step is done correctly.

Step 4: Adding the sugar
After the ginger paste has cooked with the milk, add the sugar and stir continuously. Adding sugar will add some moisture to the halwa and enhance its flavor. Make sure the sugar dissolves completely, and bubbles start forming in the mixture.

Step 5: Add Khoya and Almonds
Once the sugar has dissolved in the halwa, add the khoya and almonds. This enhances the flavor of the halwa and makes it look more appealing. Cook it on low heat, stirring continuously, until the halwa changes color.

Step 6: Cook the Halwa Thoroughly
If you feel your halwa is burning, add a few drops of milk and ghee and continue to cook until all the milk and ghee are incorporated.

Step 7: Halwa is Ready to Serve
When the halwa turns a nice golden brown, add saffron and kewra water and turn off the heat. The ginger halwa is now ready. You can garnish it with chopped almonds and serve it hot.
