A slightly lower body temperature than normal isn't always a cause for concern, as it's often caused by fat loss and dry skin. Your age, gender, and the time of day also affect your body temperature. However, a temperature significantly lower than normal can also be caused by certain specific conditions. Let's explore these conditions, their symptoms, and how to prevent them.

These could be the causes:
Hypothermia
Body temperature indicates a balance between the body's heat production and its dissipation. Prolonged exposure to cold environments can cause excessive heat loss and increase the risk of hypothermia. Newborns and the elderly are at higher risk because their bodies are unable to properly regulate their body temperature. If someone's body temperature has dropped significantly, the following measures can be taken:
Immediately remove them from the cold environment
If clothes are wet, change them immediately
Cover them with two or three blankets
Give them warm drinks
Avoid direct heat, such as a hot bath, immediately
Nervous System Disorders
The hypothalamus, a part of the brain, transmits messages regarding body temperature balance throughout the body. Problems in the nervous system disrupt temperature control or the body's ability to respond to external sources of cold. This leads to a low body temperature. Nervous system disorders include:
Stroke
Spinal cord injury
Parkinson's disease
Multiple sclerosis
Certain medications
Medications used to treat depression, bipolar disorder, and schizophrenia can sometimes cause a slight drop in body temperature as a side effect.
Measure your temperature at the right time.
If you're worried about your body temperature dropping, keep these things in mind when measuring it:
Don't take your temperature within an hour of exercising or taking a hot bath.
Don't take your temperature within 30 minutes of smoking.
Avoid taking your temperature within 30 minutes of drinking anything hot or cold.
Take immediate action if:
Shivering
Begins to mumble
Breathing becomes shallow
Pulse becomes slow
Lower concentration becomes faint
Skin becomes red and cold in children
