ICC: Jay Shah meets IOC chief Thomas Bach, efforts to include cricket in Olympics 2032 intensify

International Cricket Council (ICC) President Jay Shah met IOC chief Thomas Bach ahead of the special session of the International Olympic Committee (IOC) to be held in Lausanne from January 30. Cricket has been included in the Olympic Games to be held in Los Angeles in 2028 and from this point of view this meeting is considered important.

ICC shared the picture
The ICC posted pictures of the meeting of the two chief administrators on social media on Tuesday. The ICC posted on X- 'Efforts are on to include cricket as an Olympic sport even after the Olympic Games to be held in Los Angeles in 2028. ICC President Jay Shah met International Olympic Committee President Thomas Bach in Lausanne, Switzerland this week.'
Shah has met Cindy Hook and Nick Hockley
Shah was elected President of the ICC last year. He took office on December 1. He is working towards including cricket as a regular sport in the Olympics. Shah was in Brisbane during the Border-Gavaskar Trophy played between India and Australia where he met Cindy Hook, the head of the organising committee for the 2032 Brisbane Olympics and Nick Hockley, the CEO of Cricket Australia, to convince them to include cricket in the 2032 Olympics.
Cricket will return to the Olympics after 128 years
Cricket will return to the Olympics after 128 years through the Los Angeles Games. Earlier, cricket was last included in the Olympics in 1900 in Paris.
