In Hinduism, the festival of Karwa Chauth holds great significance for married women. On this day, women observe a *nirjala* fast (a fast without water), praying for their husbands' longevity, a happy marital life, and the well-being of their families. According to religious beliefs, the Karwa Chauth fast is observed on the *Chaturthi* (fourth day) of the *Krishna Paksha* (waning phase of the moon) in the month of *Kartik*. On this day, women perform rituals to worship Lord Ganesha, Goddess Parvati, and Lord Shiva. The fast is concluded after offering *arghya* (a ritual offering) to the moon.

According to astrological traditions, performing certain specific remedies on Karwa Chauth is believed to foster happiness, peace, and love in one's marital life. Pandit Kalki Ram, an astrologer from Ayodhya, explains that rituals, the chanting of mantras, and acts of charity hold special importance on this day. It is believed that performing these religious practices with sincere devotion can help strengthen mutual understanding between a husband and wife and bring sweetness to their relationship.
Wear yellow bangles
It is believed that married women can include yellow bangles as part of their *shringar* (adornment) on Karwa Chauth. In religious traditions, the color yellow is considered a symbol of auspiciousness and positivity. Wearing them is believed to help maintain love, trust, and harmony in one's married life.
Make charitable offerings
On the occasion of Karwa Chauth, it is considered auspicious to donate items such as *sindoor* (vermilion), perfume, saffron, and *chana dal* (split Bengal gram). It is a common belief that acts of charity bring happiness and prosperity into one's life. Women may donate these items according to their own devotion and capacity.
Worship Goddess Durga
Worshipping Goddess Durga is also considered auspicious for seeking happiness and peace in one's marital life. It is believed that reciting the *Durga Chalisa* daily and chanting the name of Goddess Durga 108 times brings peace to the mind. This can serve as an inspiration for developing a positive mindset and maintaining harmony in relationships.
A remedy involving the 'Gomti Chakra'
According to astrological beliefs, take two 'Gomti Chakras' and place them, along with some yellow mustard seeds, inside a piece of red cloth. As per a common practice, write your husband’s name on one 'Gomti Chakra' and your own name on the other, then tie them together into a small bundle. This bundle should be kept in a secure place, such as a cupboard or safe, within the home. It is believed that this practice helps foster love and mutual trust between a husband and wife.
